We're presenting at the Florida Virtual Homeschool Summit

Our founder, Robert Walsh, will be presenting at the Florida Virtual Homeschool Summit, a free online event happening August 21–23, 2026. The main point of his presentation entitled “Why Your Child Needs STEM Education (and how to give it to them!)” is that computer literacy is no longer just a competitive advantage—it is a life skill!

In this session, he will show how STEM education builds critical thinking, logical reasoning, communication, and problem-solving, plus share free tools families can use at home.

This summit brings together 20+ speakers with practical guidance on Florida homeschool requirements, funding, curriculum, learning differences, family well-being, and planning for the future.

There's still time to register for our instructor-led online classes!

This fall we're offering online classes with a live instructor! These classes will meet weekly for 15 weeks starting in September and running through mid-December. Class sizes will be kept small to ensure a low teacher/student ratio.

Enrollment is open until September 15, but classes begin the first week in September. Remember, space is limited!

Here's the course schedule. Again, all classes begin the week of August 31.

There's also a payment plan for each course. You pay an initial up-front deposit and are then billed monthly starting in September.

We've been teaching online classes at private schools for the past 5 years! And now we've decided to bring them to you. After all, a part of our mission is to ensure ALL students have access to STEM education opportunities.

Participating students will receive a T-shirt, a certificate, and one year access to our vast library of self-paced projects (a $199 value!) upon completion of each class.

New Project: Space Blast!

Can you navigate your rocket ship through an asteroid field? Find out as you create this fun and fast-paced arcade-style game in Scratch!

As you develop this game, you'll learn and apply five foundational concepts from computer science: variables, loops, conditional statements, functions, and events and event handlers.

In this project, you'll create a fun and fast-paced arcade-style game in Scratch where you must pilot a rocket ship through an asteroid field without colliding with passing stars. Your laser has only limited power, so you'll have to recharge it frequently!

You'll also learn how little extras like an animated title screen, sound effects and background music, and a restart option when the game ends can make your games feel more polished and professional.

So blast off and join us in outer space to create Space Blast! This project is available stand-alone and as part of our project library (it's in the Let's Play It Jr module of Content Library Jr!).
